MIM Fender Jazz V Pickup Replacement?

    Hi all,

    I'm researching my options for passive replacement pickups for a MIM Fender Jazz V. The leading contenders (Basslines and DiMarzio) do not seem to have direct replacements for Jazz Vs. Why is this? Does anybody know what kind of modification to the guitar is required? Are there any passive direct replacements for Fender Jazz Vs?

    Bartolini makes a variety of 5 string J sets.

    Fives are tough. There are a few different size requirements out there just within Fender Basses. Long Bridge/Short Neck, Long Bridge/Long Neck, Short Bridge/Short Neck.

    I see the sponsor for this forum, www.bestbassgear.com has the different 5 string replacements (with measurements) listed on their site. You may at least figure out your dimension requirements by looking there.

    If the string spacing and pickup size are the same as the USA Jazz V, i believe AERO and RIO GRANDE makes pickups that fits too.
