    Hey all,
I have to thin the herd a bit, my gf is giving me grief over the number of basses I own, but don't always get to play. This one is a black MIM Jazz Deluxe, active 3-band, in really good shape, black moto-pearl pickguard, rw board, single-pole US pickups, fresh strings and setup. I'm looking for best offers around $275-ish. The only flaws on this bass are a small nick up on the bottom edge of the headstock, on the round part. Came from smacking someone in the crowd right in the mouth for yelling "FREEBIRD!!!" one too many times...LOL...not really, but I'd like to! (Admit it, you would too, huh?) Actually it was from a step on a circular staircase on a dark stage. Not really that noticeable, but it is there. Also, the pickguard/control plate junction has a small gap between them, aftermarket pickguard didn't fit exact. Not bad, can't really see it from more than 5 feet away, I suppose you could get a new pickguard for $20-$40 somewhere. All the pickguard screws are stainless to prevent rust (rusted screw heads are tacky) and it has a fresh DuraCell Ultra in it. I'll post pics tomorrow afternoon, I'm at work now, and can't get them posted from here. PM me if interested.

Bump up for a great looking bass and great deal!

Use the following table to determine the time period your "Made in Mexico" instrument was built:

    SERIAL NUMBERS CIRCA
    MN1 + 5/6 DIGITS 1991-1992
    MN2 + 5/6 DIGITS 1992-1993
    MN3 + 5/6 DIGITS 1993-1994
    MN4 + 5/6 DIGITS 1994-1995
    MN5 + 5/6 DIGITS 1995-1996
    MN6 + 5/6 DIGITS 1996-1997
    MN7 + 5/6 DIGITS 1997-1998
    MN8 + 5/6 DIGITS 1998-1999
    MN9 + 5/6 DIGITS 1999-2000
    MZ0 + 5/6 DIGITS 2000-2001
    MZ1 + 5/6 DIGITS 2001-2002
    MZ2 + 5/6 DIGITS 2002-2003
    MZ3 + 5/6 DIGITS 2003-2004

According to this chart, it is a 2000-2001 by its S/N.

I don't have the "original" pickguard, but hey, I bought it used- what can you expect? I would guess it was white, though. I like the looks of this one better.

It does have the original Fender gig bag, though the "top" zipper handle is broken off.

It's still here. $300 includes shipping and gig bag. I've had several nibbles...but nothing firm. After the weekend, I'm gonna throw it in the 'Bay...
