MIM Jazz Saddle Screws.

Has anyone out there ever had this happen: My G string saddle constantly moves lower after 2 or 3 gigs. The saddle screws become loose. It's easy to raise the string back up, but why does this happen. I play finger style with my thumb anchored on either pup. I heard about putting clear nail polish on the screws to hold them in place. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. PS.I searched the forum but found nothing on this exact subject.
