hey their every one, i was just hoping somone could give me some insight on weather mim fender bass's are better than MIJ's or vice versa
Depends on the year. Most folks will say MIJ is generally better, but even Japanese production has had down years now and then, and I'm sure some true gems have come out of Mexico. IOW in both cases it's best to try the actual bass in hand rather than thinking about the country of origin.

In my opinion the Fujigen factory produced Fenders (1987 - 1996 I believe) are really great basses for the money.
weather?? Here in Florida it's hot, humid and rains every afternoon. As far as basses, MIJ/CIJ are far superior..........IMHO of course.
I see, is there a difference between CIJ and MIJ Fenders? Do they actually have a factory for hand crafted instruments in Japan?
I think Fender Japan simply changed the acronym from mij to cij in the mid to late 90's......the c meaning crafted but not by hand.
I've only played a few CIJ basses, but they seemed a tad more consistent then a lot of MIMs and MIAs I've played as of lately.
both of my fenders are CIJ (jaguar and paisley P) ive played and had the cash for MIA fenders BUT all of the ones i tried the ones i have played and sounded better IMO. but then my true baby is CIUK (Crafted in UK) LOL and i prefer my status to my fenders for most situations.
