Hey I have played bass for about 4 years and bought my own bass 2 years ago - a ibanez gsr200 (which is quite cool because my initials are GSR ). But I've decided it's time to change! I've been looking around on the net and in shops and I've basically decided on a MIM fender precision. It'll cost me £330-£390 which is about $534-631 and that is about my price limit (not a huge upgrade in guitar). I was also thinking off upgrading later on with a new bridge and maybe pickups eventually. Basically I was just wondering whether people think that this is a good idea or whether they have suggestions for a different bass around this price range and whether the upgrades are worth it. Thanks!
$530 seems like a lot for a MIM p-bass. I usually see them new for around $350. Its defanitaly a good bass though. I love mine.
Those prices seem about right for the UK. I personally like the MIM products and like any other bass you got to play several before you purchase one. Each bass differs slightly from the other within the same product line. Even though I am a big Fender fan I recommend that you try everything you can. You may be surprised by what you like or don't like. Basses in that price that I am familiar with are made by Peavey, Yamaha, and Cort just to name a few. Dan
