A clip of "I'll Remember April" with Bud Powell from Antibes 1960 has been floating around on youtube for years and I've always wondered whether there was footage of the rest of that concert...

Well tonight I managed to find footage of four of the six pieces from the record on the ina.fr website. They didn't title the songs correctly on the site and there's a bunch of blank screen during the first half of Better Git Hit In Your Soul ... but nevertheless this footage is spectacular!! Thought I'd share these here.

That site has some great footage from the rest of the festival, too. Enjoying some Ray Charles as we speak ...

Every time I see or hear Euro broadcasts of jazz, I hang my head in shame for the state of US music TV and radio. I'm sure there's plenty of dreck on the air in the EU as in the US, but their appreciation of music (not just jazz) is something we could stand to emulate here.

    Thanks for the links.
