I will be in the New York city/NJ/Philadelphia area next weekend for business. My Friday night is free, and my Sunday is pretty open too.

Anybody up for a mini GTG?

Mods, can you sticky this until next weekend?

    Jeff,
I think next Friday is a definite possibility. We'd been going to have another beer session masquerading as official GTG planning ;-)

Well, it's still at the theory stage at the moment :)

Keep an eye on this thread and maybe we can organize something:

And I'll maybe bring the west wing of my pedalboard ;)

I don't drink, but don't mind if you guys do.

What about a restaurant that serves drinks, so Tim can come too?

And while I am on the subject of food, where can I get some good sushi in NYC?

Also, I am going to be in a rental car. How hard is it to find parking, and do I need cash to park, or will most of the places take Amex?

I'm sure we can do that
    here's my favorite place:

There are better places overall, but this is the best vfm place I know in manhattan
it all depends on the neighbourhood where we are. Where will you be in NJ? Cos it might just be less hassle for you to take the train in and back and use the subway (it's perfectly safe). The holland and lincoln tunnels can be a nightmare.

But there are plenty of parking places, but not cheap (especially on a friday night). Most of them will take Amex, but you should have cash to tip the guy.

I will be staying in Somerset, NJ.

How much cash is appropriate for tipping the valet?

Dunno where to get good sushi in NYC... personally I won't eat anything that swims where it pees. But that's just me.

Parking is going to require some cash, don't expect to find any street parking, it's few and far between. Parking garages are your best bet. I don't recall approximate prices on those.

I'm playing Friday and Saturday - Sunday would be a possibility for me - but I also don't drink and don't really like hanging around bars unless I'm playing in them, or going to see someone else play. :)
