    Mint Trace Elliot V-Type Tube Bass Preamp. Based on the Fender Showman tone stack found in the classic Alembic F-1X, this unit goes one better, adding separate 'gain' and 'mid shift' controls. Completely mint, no issues whatsoever--these units sound great and are really rare!

    Comes with a pair of brand new Tesla JJ 12Ax7's installed.

    what type of tubes does it have in it and how would you describe the tone capabilities of it?

    I"ve been looking high and low for a tube preamp for a decent price and this seems to fit the bill.

    Very warm, rich mids, you can get a very fat sounding 'old school' tone by boosting the bass and lowering the treble. The only thing it really won't do is 'high-fi SWR-type' tone. I should note that it is also EXTREMELY quiet for a tube preamp--about half the signal/noise ratio of my Eden Navigator.

    The tubes I installed were Tesla JJ's, which folks around TB will tell you is a solid choice for bass applications.
