My amp started making a really weird noise and I thought it was still the pot so I cleaned the pot but it wasn't it. I opened the amp and the tube was misplaced so I fully plugged it in.. ... the noise was really high and (@*#(@ (yeah.. my description).. could it have damaged my new cab ? Or the amp ?

Sure, maybe. Get the amp tested, and biased/fixed as necessary by a proper technician, then try again. If the cab sounds good, then you did no harm.

It does work.. so I guess since there's no weird sound that means no damage was done ?

It's probably OK. What kind of amp and tube?
