This is a GREAT J and very easy on the back. I'm so happy with the J I'm playing now that I just won't be playing this and a few other great J's. I know there's someone who needs a J that's easy to gig all night!
$525 plus shipping$ FS only and firm.
I have added sound clips a few posts down.
Here is the description from the previous seller which sums it up perfectly:
    "Details:
Built by MJ Guitars Engineering in the 90's
    Aguilar OBP-3 Preamp (18 Volt)
Kent Armstrong Split Tube Jazz Bass Chrome Pickups
    Koa top and back
    Mahogany core (Hollow body wings)
    One piece graphite-reinforced maple neck
    Ebony Fingerboard
Gotah Tuners wt. Drop D Tuner
    ESP Bridge
    only about 7.5lbs!!
This is a used-well great playing (action is low and it plays like butter), killer sounding bass ready to go. One of the things I like about this bass is the weight, you can wear this bass for hours without your back breaking. I recently had about $600 (Receipt included if requested) of work done on this bass including the installation of the Kent Armstrong Split Tube Jazz Bass Chrome Pickups, Aguilar OBP-3 Preamp, the frets leveled and crowned and a complete set-up with Ken Smith strings. Please note - that all work was done with Master Luthier Ron Blake over here in CT.

    Thanks!
This bass plays fantastic and is easy to get a great tone with the pre. At this weight it's chiropractor approved!

I was curious to how the pups sound? I play only passive basses and I was looking for a different sound are they really bright?

I wouldn't call them bright, it's my opinion that the Aggie pre is the dominant factor in the tone. I'd describe it as the "modern J" tone. I'll try and make a clip soon.

Here is a little taste of tone:
Flat clip is that: flat and center P/U
Boost slap: bump of bass and treble and center P/U

    One more clip:
Boost bs, mid, treble and favoring rear P/U.
None of the clips are full boost.
