Up for sale is a very cool and unique bass. This bass is the combination of an MJT bass kit (from MJT Aged Finishes) and a beautiful roasted/quartersawn maple neck from Musikraft.

    Specs:
BODY - Lightweight ash precision bass body (4 lbs 3 oz)
FINISH - Sherwood Green nitro finish by MJT
AGING - "Closet Clean" by MJT
NECK PROFILE - 1.5" nut, Jazz bass neck (Slim C profile)
NECK MATERIAL - Roasted AND Quartersawn Maple Neck
NECK FINISH - Satin nitro (smooth)
FRETBOARD MATERIAL - Indian Rosewood (requested a dark piece and got it)
    FRETBOARD EDGES - Semi-rolled
FRETS - Vintage small, 6230 nickel silver
PICKUP - Klein Epic 1959 Precision
WIRING - Emerson Precision Bass Wiring Harness
WEIGHT - 8lbs 5.2oz according to Accuteck postal scale (pictured) - Nice and light!
HARDWARE - Purchased through MJT. Fender style bridge, barrel knobs, string tree, nut
TUNERS - Gotoh, purchased through MJT as part of kit
ADDITIONAL HARDWARE - Bridge cover (not installed), pickup cover (not installed), tug bar (installed)
PICKGUARD - Lightly aged mint green 3 ply from MJT
GIG BAG - included (Fender gig bag)

Strap buttons are included, but not installed yet.

I've attached the neck receipt with full specs as well in case anyone is interested.

Condition wise, the bass is pretty much as I received it from MJT/Musikraft (other than being assembled now). I put one ding in it next to the knobs when assembling (oops), but that's about it. All the other minor wear is part of the "Closet Clean" aging by MJT. This includes all the paint chipping, etc. by the neck pocket, that arrived that way from MJT.

So, the story on this bass. I bought this bass as a bass kit + neck, separately, but I ordered them in unison through MJT and Musikraft who work together often. So this was purpose built from the ground up and ordered together custom at the same time, not put together from existing parts. The neck was sent directly from Musikraft to MJT for nitro finishing along with the body.

While I love how this bass turned out and I'm very happy with it, I've decided to sell due to a recent home purchase and associated expenses (unexpected at the time I ordered the kit).

I have around ~$1,660 in this bass all together, plus the wait times. Breakdown below:

    MJT Bass Kit - 750
MJT light weight body upcharge - 75
    Musikraft Neck - 530
Additional hardware from MJT - 85
    Klein pickup + shipping - 135
    Emerson harness + shipping - 85

    Was $1,400 shipped

    Price drop:
    $850 + shipping CONUS
    Venmo or PayPal for payment

Bass will ship in a Fender gig bag, double boxed and packed as securely as possible with a ton of foam/etc. I can also ship in a like new ProTec Contego case for additional $, please PM if interested.

On the note of trades—I probably shouldn’t, but I might be swayed by the right maple neck EBMM Stingray or the right dual humbucker guitar. Feel free to discuss any offers via PM.

Let me know if you have any questions, glad to assist. Thanks for looking.

Looks awesome, is that an aged pickguard as well? I read through, sorry if I missed it. :)

Lightly aged mint green pickguard from MJT as well! They did a really convincing job on it too. Thank you for mentioning that, adding it to my OP now.

I appreciate the offer, I do like a nice strat, but I need to stick to a sale on this one. I’d be hanging onto this bass if it weren’t for recently purchasing a home, I’m only selling to recoup some furnishing costs and pay for a little work that I want to do to it.

Thanks! I’m glad to see that some others like the direction I went on the bass.
Thank you! Definitely worth a shot. I was considering it, but my “responsible side” won out this time. I’ve cut down to one guitar at the moment (a tele style), but I do like strats too. I might have been too tempted if you offered something I liked with humbuckers though, lol

Alright, dropping one more time on this one.

$999 shipped CONUS in a Fender gig bag
(I have a like new ProTec Contego bag I could ship in for additional, please PM if interested)

If this does not move at this price I’ll need to look at parting it out, which seems like a shame.

Decided to hold off on the local trade for now.

The bass is available again, back on the market.
