MLB 2024

And the bottom feeding Pirates have crossed the dreaded 82 mark insuring a losing season, again. And since there is no hope of post season play, they are now moving established position players to different positions. Their starting shortstop is now an outfielder, and a veteran left fielder is taking defensive reps at first base.

20 year win/ loss percentage record?? .381!!! Man, when this bunch latches on to something they are good at, they go after it with gusto. And they are really good a losing.

The Mariners salvaged one against the Yankees. The next games are against Houston and Texas. They could sneak in as a wild card or even overtake Houston if they go on a tear. They are killing me! If they hadn't swooned in the second half, they would have been way ahead of Houston and wouldn't even need to think about the wild card race.

Nats optioned CJ Abrams to the minors after he stayed out all night at a casino before a day game at Wrigley. Guessing he was maybe celebrating going 4 for 5 and scoring 2 runs? Yeah, he went 0-3 (with a BB) on Friday but then the whole TEAM only collected 5 hits so go figure.

He stayed out until 8:00am. They made the right move.

First, Bob Nutting pulls off the jerk move of the century, then he sends his GM out there to lie to peoples face about it..
It's too bad there isn't a way to run Nutting out of the game. What a shameful human being.
Then again, if Cherington had any decency, he would have resigned before being forced to dish out that line of bull puckey.

He also said he didn't think it would have a negative impact on the players in the clubhouse . . . presumably with a straight face. That's such a Richard move and while it probably wouldn't be THE deciding factor for potential FA's they pursue it helps them paint the picture of what kind of organization they'd be signing with.

Even I, who usually say the term of the contract are what they are, think that was despicable.
