Why is it that musicman puts 50k ohm pots in thier basses? I want to replace one or more of mine, and I was wondering what pots of different inpedences would do to the taper of the vol/hi/mid/etc.

The value of the Music man pots is different than most Passive pickups through Active electronics because the pickup goes to the preamp then goed to the pots then to the output jack.

Other basses the passive pickups go to the pots then to the preamp then to the output jack.

If you put different value pots, the swell of the volume or tone would/might be different.
