Is it worth the price for being used every nite? Will it hold up years of abuse? Passive or active? W/ Piezo or w/o? Color choices?

    And strings?
  3. I have only had one for a short while and just started playing bass. I did play guitar for almost ten years.

Mine is an active and it sounds and plays great. I have (sadly) dropped it about 10 times already and the dog hit it. Its heavier than most basses I've played and seems to be built like a tank

My two cents, which after inflation and tax work out to much less

I played a MM StingRay5 as my main bass guitar for eight years. I put it through hell. The bass has a few dings on it, but I don't ever plan on selling it, even if it isn't my main instrument.

My Sterling 4H does great. Never had a problem with it.

I have the MM Sterling 5 HS 2008 model. Great sounding with a
pretty decent low B. Incredibly comfortable to play. It definitely
has it's own sound, nothing like a Fender at all. IMO, worth every

    It's only active.

    I prefer no piezo.

They look great in a translucent stain over ash body. Red, orange, and green look great. Not a fan of solid paint on these. YMMV.

I find that nickel strings help to tame the aggressive tone quite well.

Played Sterlings since 2004. Along with SR5's and Bongos. They just get the job done. The HS Sterling is my favorite.
