i want one.
lol best post ever
Yeah, don't we all. I'd love one... I can't get enough of Michael's use of it lately.
Does anyone here other than Michael Manring have one. I don't think I've evere seen one.
I think the Hyperbass is possibly the ugliest bass I have seen in say... the past month.
Before that, the Bongo was the reigning champ for 3 months running (or however long it has been since I first saw it).
the zon yahoo group shows a nice one
here's that one back at Bass Summit III. Mark "Progzilla" used to own it. It was nice, and until I actually played it I always thought I wanted one too.
Turns out there's hardly any room to play on that thing. Very very tight. The tone is good, but for me the action was too low (there's a complaint, huh?!)
I'll bet f could work his magic on one, but I was disappointed to learn that, alas, I could not.
My problem with it is the super deep lower cutaway. I know it is functional to give it the full 3 octaves, but I think it is... aesthetically unpleasing. (the nicest way I could say it ) To each their own!
i can understand not liking it.
people give me crap on the road about my Honda Element.
it does what i need it to do.
i think the Hyper would be the same.
I don't like the Element either
Like I said, to each their own. I bet you can make the Hyperbass sound great though!
i need a T-Shirt that says something like:
GIMME UGLY ANYDAY!
i'll take your hyperbass and raise you 4 strings...
hyper to the nth!
i dig em too, obviously. i'm not sure, though that i would get another 3 octave instrument. i really dig my 28 fret instruments, but the 3 octave dealie is a bit much - not much in the way of tonal diversity since potential pickup placement becomes really limited with the fast dwingling real estate down between the board and the bridge.
...then again, if you get the right tone, who needs tonal diversity, right?
with those 2, i think i'd be satisfied!
i think you and Brad should go on tour.
the BABES OF TALKBASS tour!
Hey JOhn, have you ever thought of getting a 14 string Conklin?
michael has been playing a really sweet 3 octave sonus as of late, as well...seen it?
I've always said the hyperbass was just a Wishnevsky ripoff.
ps - really though Fred, I'm surprised you haven't acquired one by now...
