I am having problems with getting MN50KΩ and MN100kΩ blend pots for my current project. I eventually gave in and ordered (via Amazon) from a Taiwanese vendor but it has been since mid April so far and still nothing and I want to finish up and get back to playing!

I would really like to find a US vendor/supplier for such things - can anyone offer suggestions? I can get MN250kΩ and MN500kΩ pots anywhere but the lower resistance pots are really hard to find. Mouser is just plain confusing to me, I would appreciate guidance on finding someone here in the US who has stock. Thanks in advance.

Mouser has alot of products. Notwithstanding the website is seriously lacking. Almost impossible to manipulate shopping carts, comprehend/trust the product descriptions & decipher the specs of certain things like pots. I would almost rather pay more and know what i am gonna get.

IME, the trick with Mouser is to already know exactly what you want, have the part number in hand, and then find it by either a Google search or the internal Mouser search engine. They stock a lot of stuff that I can only manage to find that way. Mouser and Digikey are also both pretty good about dealing with special orders, although manufacturer dictated minimum quantities can easily be a deal breaker.

Thanks guys. Yeah, Mouser is clearly aimed at the trade and not backyard fiddlers like us. Any other places worth looking at? I don't mind paying a retail price, I just want the dang pots to arrive reliably!

eBay? When I want unusual values or physical formats that often seems to be the best bet. For instance:

Alpha 100K OHM Dual MN-Taper Blend-Balance Potentiometer Center Click ~USA STOCK | eBay

But of course Tayda will probably sell you the exact same part for a buck or less.

Thanks man, yeah I found those too but I would really like to have solder lugs (with the little holes in them - is that the right name?) as opposed to the PCB mounts if I could. OTOH it IS the value that I want and it IS in the US...

Are Tayda in the US? I have had it with offshore vendors.

Tayda is in Thailand but they were very fast before the pandemic hit. They stock a lot of Alpha pots that I can never seem to find in the US.

Another option is little PCBs for the pots with through-hole pins, I just roll my own:

I can help you with that if you like, just PM me. It'd take about two weeks to get the right format boards for a blend application made and delivered, and since I need to do something very similar for a client right now anyway, no charge on my end. You would order direct from the PCB fabricator in Portland once I sent you the board CAM file. Should be considerably less than 5 bucks for three boards, shipping included. IME this makes the pots more robust too, since it's harder to tweak an individual lug.
