the keyboardist in my band let me borrow his mim pbass and its got some problems.

    1. when you plug in, if you push the cable in too far it goes dead until you jiggle it and it'll work. i checked and all the wires are solded properly.

    2. on the wires coming from the pickup, theres one bare wire thats soldered to the tone pot (i think its tone, **** i don't know. i hate active pus) i'm wondering if that is causing it to short.

    3. how often would I usually have to change the 9volt? he didn't have a battery box installed so in order to change the battery you have to take the pickguard off each time.

    4. i looked at the schematic on sd's site and it doesn't match the wiring. i'm not sure if its the same sd preamp or if its a different one. should it match?

    anyone anyone?

  3. I've seen control plates, like the sorts that are on J-basses, crafted for P-bass, to solve the problem of changing the batteries...
