Today I'm auditioning a Peavey Special Solo 130. I want to mod it to be a smaller, lighter, and better TNT/PA amp: and that means losing the 12" 65w speaker and using a 4ohm config. to get it running at its max rms of 140 watts.

    For a 15" I'm looking at an
Eminence Red Coat 15" and a 5" mid with a built-in crossover to get me to 4ohms. Any ideas of such a mid?

Wha'? No response even with all that sub and mid advice in the Carvin LM503 threads?

For instance, Radio Shack has a $20 3' tweeter, 150 w, freq. 2-25kHz, so no crossover needed, right?

It's 4 ohm. So if I run it in parallel with a 4ohm Black Widow, I won't drop to 2ohms, right? (Manual says 2ohms not recommended.)

Also, the tweet won't suck half the power will it? Just a proportion of the wattage above 2kHz?
