I'd like to know which modern/new amplifiers are manufactured in the United States? I know of Thunderfunk which IMO is high end. Are there any others for those of us with a working mans moderate budget?

Let me know what you think.

You want all American parts too? Not just assembled in the US?

If you're looking for "all-American parts and assembly"... now that's going to be a really, really, really hard one (if not impossible). But if parts aren't a concern, then the list expands dramatically. The "Made in the USA" label usually says nothing about the origin of the individual components involved, and tracing that can be excruciating...

Anyhow, I thought I'd contribute a definite hit for a made-in-the-USA brand: Gallien-Krueger. All of their amps (except the Backline series, IIRC) are made in the USA and quite affordable.

I'd like to know at minimum the ones that are assembled in the United States, if not with mostly American parts, to me the more American the better, but I understand parts are parts.

Just really trying to see if there are such anomalies anymore as far as the manufacturing base.

    Let me know.

    Really, With a name like Gallien-Kruger I would've
never expected them to be USA:). Name sounds German to me. I've never actually gotten close enough to GK products to know that.

    Thanks Mystic,

Robert Gallien is a UC Berkeley graduate who obtained his Master's at Stanford, and then founded GK. It used to be headquartered in San Jose (my hometown), but it has since moved to Stockton.

So not only is it American... it's Californian. :D

  9. Speaking of California, how about Mesa Boogie? BTW, are there some Fenders that are still made in Fullerton?

Hey MysticBoo, I just have to acknowledge a neighbor. I was a commercial photo retoucher back in the late 80's and had a studio in Campbell. Kind of a small world, one of my clients was Gallien-Krueger, at the time they were made there. I was taking a leave of absence from bass in those days. I helped in the production of some of their catalogs. Overall great American Company! Just lost my 400rb but sure to get another.

OK, carry on, not looking to derail the thread :)

Good call. But they're made in Southern California, not the superior Northern California. :smug:

    :bag:

You mean their amps? I'm not sure. The literature isn't clear... I doubt the lower-end stuff is. No clue about the 300 PRO and other "high-end" Fender heads... although the manuals seem to mildly suggest Corona, CA?

Cool! Always good to hear from a neighbor. :)

Isn't Genz Benz made in the US? If not made here their CS is, and from what I've heard it's hard to beat em.

The ones I've seen in recent years are manufactured in China.
