ive been trying fretless basses at the local store, and i really like it, but they dont have just what i want. i was wondering if there was a way i could take the bass i have now, and get the frets off and smooth the fingerboard so there are no fretlines. i dont have the money to buy a new bass, if i do get one id be downgrading- thanks

  2. yes, it is possible, and quite common, actually. look in the luthier's forum. there was a thread on it not too long ago. you can also do a search and find many many threads.

also, what does this have to do with pickups?
