I have a 97 Mon Flea 5 string. Lately, my band is playing more tunes in dropped D. I am contemplating getting a D-Tuner of somesort and was wondering what would fit, since I have the B tuner pretty close behind. The big part of this upgrade that scares me is the fiber headstock and redrilling. The lever for the de-tuner might hit the b tuner. I was wondering if anyone has done this with little to no modification other than installing the device. I can learn some of the songs differently to get around dropped tuning but some songs get inherently more difficult to play without going to drop D and keep the tone consistant. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

  2. I wouldn't do it with the graphite just because of the properties of the material.
