1990 Modulus Graphite Quantum 5 Thought I would put it out there to see if there is any interest. I almost bought this bass in the early 90's but ended up with a 91 Quantum 4. Toby Peter bought this bass and it was his main player through his career with Salvador Dream and other bands. This bass is really great shape for it's age but was a player bass not a collector's bass. That being said there are some small nicks and light surface lines on the bass nothing large. There is a small clear coat crack 1 cm near the tone knobs. Prefer a sale on this bass not really looking for any trades unless it's something that I couldn't resist. MTD, Sadowsky, Fbass, ect...under 35 inch scale. 1990 build Graphite neck, Phenolic fingerboard. 2 piece alder body, Quilted maple top. EMG pups and 2 band pre amp. 17 mm bridge spacing, 1 7/8 nut width. around 9 pounds
Thanks for the bump BB, It has a really nice top on it, jumps out at you when you open the case. An oldie but a goodie. I shouldn't be selling this bass because it took 25 years to find me again, but I really feel at home on the 34 inch scale basses.
I hear that man. I just recently picked up my dream bass and it has a 36" Scale! I thought the 35" scale was a change when I first bought a quantum, but now I know what it means to "work for it" on a fingerboard. It makes the quantum feel easy in comparison. The sound of the extended scale is so worth it though.
Hey Chris thanks for the bump. This is a fabulous bass, I am just allot more comfortable on a 34 inch scale. The gene pool gave me shorter arms and sausage fingers, whatcha gonna do. Lol
Thanks for the bump kitty, it was for sale in the early 90's at TMT music in Richmond. When this one sold I bought the 91 blue four string Quantum.
I bought this bass from Toby, owned it for probably 6 or 7 years, then traded it to Rob. There are no issues at all with this bass. It is the best Q5 I have ever played. It has that extra sparkle or resonance or whatever that is that makes an instrument exceptional. Toby told me he had owned many Quantumns and this was the best one by far. This bass was my baby and I really hated to let it go but had no cash and needed a Fender style 5-string Jazz so I traded it to Rob for his awesome blue-green Pavel. Rob is a great guy to deal with. He knows a lot about basses and is straight forward and honest so you will have an easy, no hassle transaction. John
Hey thanks for the bump and kind words John, I am leaning towards keeping it. Too many nice basses that are not being played, nice problem to have. Would have to list the Koa Kinal, Smith or the Pedulla thunder, tough decisions.
Woah mama. That's a sexy bass right there. Someone quick grab a bucket of water to put out this GAS fire.
Thanks for the complement, that is a beautiful bass and top that you have there as well. Maybe i should keep it.
