1997 Modulus Quantum 5 Wide Sweet Spot
Wow, look at this amazing Q5! This is one of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen.
AAAAA quilted top in Stone Blue... it is simply captivating.
Super slap machine with the clearest piano-like tone I've heard!
Thunderous lows and killer attack from the W-I-D-E solid graphite neck.
It's straight, flat and fast and plays effortlessly with super low action!

    - Pre-trussrod graphite neck with NO excessive bow: perfectly straight (nearly no relief) with 45-125 roundwounds
    - Lane Poor M4.5W soapbar pickup dated 6/97 in the Sweet Spot position
    - Bartolini NTBT two band pre
    - Controls are Volume-Bass-Treble
    - 35" Scale
    - 19mm spacing
    - Weighs 10 lb. 2.6 oz.
    - Modulus gig bag included
    - Original Modulus Gig bag - Worn but functional

$1800 shipped CON US. No trades.
Please understand that trade offers will not be responded to.

    Thanks for looking!

    And now, the visuals....

Is this a "Sweetspot" or a different model?

Amazing finish in any case... love it!

That is slammin. It has quite a few special things going for it: unique finish, wide spacing, single LP pickup, and a great price to boot!

For anyone who is reluctant to pull the trigger based on the lack of truss rod: don't be! I've had a Q5 for about 7 years and never had to tweak a thing...and I keep mine in my basement which is obviously prone to temp and humidity changes.

I have an old neck through Modulus with no truss rod and I was told by Geoff Gould that if you loosen the strings the neck will in essence straighten out. I'm sure this would apply to BOs as well. So really the only drawback is that it may take a day or two to make neck adjustments and of course that is assuming you need to make said adjustments in the first place.

Good luck with the sale and BUMP for you!

I have a 1995 no-truss Q5 Sweetspot (thanks for the pic, OP... now my silverburst looks like crap!:p) and my neck has never budged. Amazing how these are so stable.
  11. I love the colour!!
  12. Holy beeeeeep!!!!

I have to go clean myself up now.
  13. I had one of these wide sweet spot 5 ers with the turbo option (pickup behind the first pickup in front of the bridge) in the pink over blue scheme they did and it was a killer. I sold it to get my current Dolphin 5 Warwick and it is the number one bass that I regret selling, ever! This colour was my second choice after the pink over blue and it is stunning.

So this is a regret selling mine and love the colour of this bass bump!!!

I bought my Quantum new in 1997. I've played it nearly ever since (have a few other basses in the stable but this still gets back in rotation) and I live in the south, even played a little in Europe and the neck is still perfect. Great basses.

I added a few pics to the original post showing the pickup and side markers.

Thanks for the interest, everyone! I have a feeling this one will be gone soon...

    These are great basses.

My Sweetspot gets most of my gig/rehersal time. I have lots of other nice basses, but these are special IMO... better than a standard 2 pickup Q5 for some reason.
