For sale is a pristine 1996 Modulus Quantum 6 string bass. 35" scale, 24 frets. The pictures do not do the color any justice. The top is actually an emerald green.

    $1,850 shipped and fully insured.

I purchased this bass directly from Joe Perman himself (Modulus master builder) this past December of 2017. It was part of his personal collection. I am ONLY selling because taxes are due and something's gotta give.

The bass is nearly immaculate. There is no truss rod as it does not need it thanks to the graphite neck and phenolic fingerboard. Prior to selling the bass, Mr. Perlman reworked the entire neck by refinishing the fretboard, redoing the frets, and sanding the back of the neck down to a silky-smooth satin finish. This bass is beautiful not just to look at but also to play. It's amazing. The fret ends are so smooth you don't feel them.

The bass came stock with EMG 45DC (dual-coil) pickups and an EMG 2-band preamp. However, I upgraded the electronics to EMG 45DCX and an 18v EMG 3-band preamp with sweepable mids. The X series EMGs are definitely a big step up in tone. Controls: volume, blend, treble/bass stack, mids/mids frequency stack.

The bass ships in the original Modulus hardshell case. It pains to sell it. It really hurts, but I unfortunately do not have much of a choice. But rest assured, this bass is essentially new.

WOW. Is this the first year of truss rod Modulus basses?
