Guys, I've got a nice '97 Modulus here. AAA Flame Maple top over alder, EMG 45 DC pups, and EMG BTS tone circuit. Velvet Black Cherry finish. Has normal "player" wear, like some light scratching around the pickups and a few scratches (not buckle rash) on the back. Comes with Modulus OHSC. The included shipping is to the lower 48.

that flame looks a little weak... is the bass good for slapping?

Well, the top is 3A... if you compare it to 5A it won't look as flamey. 3A is the "standard" top on a Q, and 5A is currently a $300 upgrade. It's a great slapping/tapping bass, if you can handle the string spacing.

It's 17 mm. That's the standard spacing on Quantum 5 and 6 strings, but it's tighter than "normal" 4-string spacing.

Nice! If I didn't have my '99 Royal Velvet Q6, this would be mine...somebody grab this--nice price, great bass.

  11. If only it had one less string.

    And wider string spacing.

And I had 1.5g's to spend.

Might be interested, once I offload my fretless.

But. What does it weigh? Important factor for me.

My digital fish scale says 9 lbs., 8 oz.

I'd have thought it was lighter, it being a graphite neck and all.

Still, I guess 9 lbs. 8 oz isn't bad at all. It's just that my back disagrees with anything above 8 pounds, alas.

    I'm growing old and wimpy.
