I've been "carrying" MONO products for quite a few months now... I put it in quotes because I haven't really been stocking them very heavily. MONO offered to play drop shipper for me, which was something different that I wanted to try. I wouldn't have to tie up space and money with a bunch of inventory, and in return I'd pay a slightly higher dealer cost than other dealers that actually stock the stuff fully.

Well, that strategy has been... less than successful. The biggest problem is that my website always states that the products are in stock, even when I don't have them. I was assuming MONO would be able to cover any shortfalls, but... well, as some of you who ordered MONO products from me have learned the hard way, that was a poor assumption.

So I'm now stocking MONO products myself. I still intend to let MONO drop ship for me when they can (to save one leg of CA to VA shipping expense), but I will strive to always have at least ONE of every product in stock so I can ship it myself if I have to.

For those of you who ordered MONO stuff from me and were disappointed with a wait, I humbly apologize. And for those of you that were patient enough to hang in there with me... thanks, you really didn't have to do that!!

At the end of the day, these are some super hip cases and straps. I won't let a little space and money keep me from making them available.

    Greg,

Do you have the smoke grey ultra-suede straps (short version) on hand??

Hey, Ryan - yep I sure do, I've got 2 of 'em in stock at the moment.

Want me to box one up with my Europa, a Roscoe or a Dolphin? :)

Damn, Greg, I'd love to be able to (feasibly) pick up that Roscoe from you. It's so close to what I'd want if I were ordering one custom it's not even funny.:meh:

But, with the flooding still going on around here (although I think my place will remain in the clear), and the slowdown at work right now, my "new bass fund" has become more of an "emergency backup plan" right now. The higher-ups at work are optimistic that we'll be picking back up soon, but who knows??

Not sure if I want the ultra-suede ones or the all-black sharkskin ones (do you happen to have a couple of those in the short versions???). I'm almost leaning towards the black, since I pretty much only wear black shirts. And they gotta be the short ones---the older I get, the higher my basses seem to like to be.;)

I hear ya! Hope you're out of the watery woods soon!

And yes, I do indeed have the short black sharkskin one, too.

Not that you asked for my advice, but here's some anyway. The Dura-Weave appears more durable to me - it's a tougher, rough velvet sort of material. The Sharkskin is a woven satin sort or material which seems to me would be more prone to snags and an earlier demise. But if black is your color, Sharkskin is the way to go.

Yeah, but the duraweave just doesn't do it for me. I think, given my want for black, I'll have to go with the black sharkskin ones (I need one for each bass). Right now, I'm using a black Perry's leather strap (3.25" wide) which I like OK, and a brown LowEnd strap (3.5" wide). I'm basically looking for something with a bit more padding, and these look like they should do the trick, hopefully??

Is it easiest to just use the checkout on your website??

EDIT: Already done, you should have the order now.:) Please make sure they're the short ones.;)

Gotcha covered. Thanks for the order! As I mentioned in my email, I'm shipping one to you, and Mono is shipping the other :)

Awesome! I need to check w/ MONO to make sure they shipped the other one. I usually would have had a confirmation by now, but I haven't yet...

Just in case anyone is wondering, these are actually REALLY nice straps. I've played a few 4-hour gigs using them now, and they are extremely comfortable.

  11. I have one as well, and it's a huge step up from my old leather strap. Very comfy for long stretches. I found the buttonholes too thick for straplocks, but they're tight enough I feel comfortable playing without those.

I use the Warwick straplocks, and they actually worked without too much trouble.

Yeah, and I'm never afraid to take a drill to the leather part of any strap where the straplocks need to fit. No sense fighting the strap, just make the hole bigger and be done with it.
