Thinking about this box since it's 1590a and my Morley is considerably bigger. Don't need anything but the A or B function for switching between electric and upright, never for both at the same time. Anyone have any experience with it? Does anyone else build a 1590a sized ABY who charges less?

You could DIY it. Super simple build.

    How much does theirs cost?

I thought the Mooer pedals were relatively inexpensive?

$68. Less expensive than a Lehle, not as cheap as the Morley.

Super simple build? Yeah, I guess it would be for most people. I am a dolt when it comes to this stuff, though.

I built one. "Super simple", sure, except... I bought the switch and jacks at a local electronics parts store. The jacks fell apart and the switch went crackly. So I had to mail order some real parts on-line and build it again. :rollno:

I now have a switch box that's as good as one I could go out and buy. And spent a lot of time making it.

Do you want to build commodity items like switch boxes and cables? Or play your bass? ;)

Hmmm...sourcing out the raw materials came to less than I thought it would, but I figure it would cost me 10x as much in time and aggravation. Ya, forget building it myself. I'll leave that to the pros.

OK, so the Mooer...fine piece of machinery or flimsy crap? I'm tempted to say fine piece of machinery but I know nothing about them except they're small.

Road Rage, a Canadian manufacturer (I believe), make a range of very fine ABY and switching pedals. Not much more expensive than Mooer but better quality IMO. Also available as a kit or fully assembled.

I have one of their micro loopers and it works great. Although I'm not using it at the moment, I'm keeping it in the case need arises again....

    Cheers, Chris

Actually, the little Road Rage AB pedal does everything the Mooer does and will work out to about $10 cheaper than the Mooer. But the Mooer is a decent amount smaller, which kind of counts, too. Both are small enough, but the best I can do on the Road Rage is slightly over $60 with shipping while I can get the Mooer with free shipping.

OTOH, the Morley I already have and it's not like it's backbreaking to tote around. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just wasting money when it comes to replacing stuff I already have.

I have the mooer, works perfectly for my needs - turning on and off the drive loop in my EBS Billy Sheehan drive pedal. Love the size and the colour changing LED (although it can be used passively with no lights). Only issue is the rubber 'foot' is non-velcro friendly.

    What about this guy

    http://www.fullcompass.com/product/...ign=googleps&gclid=CPygvujju7gCFcFj7Aod3z8AXA

It's a size bigger than the 1590a but smaller than the Morley.

I tried to build an AB looper in a 1590a before (it will work) but it's so close with everything in that sucker, meaning the jacks have to be offset from each other just perfectly.

I'll see if I can get that sucker going and just give it to you Jimmy. :)

Aw, that's very kind and I appreciate it, but don't worry about it. Not like I'm hurting for bucks...I'm just cheap ;)

Forgot about the Switchblade...that would work!

Interesting, I've been needing something like this.

Is the power supply for these things just used to operate the LEDs?

Did you check out Loopmaster? I've got an one of their A/B/Y pedals; great construction, real reasonable prices. If you just need an A/B pedal, they've got some micro ones for $40-45.

Price sure is right on that Loopmaster. They say build time would be over 2 or 3 weeks, and that they had a problem with getting builds out on time but took steps to correct it. Anyone got any comments on that? Yeah, OK, I'll do a search too, dammit...but would it kill you all to comment instead of telling me to do a search?

    :D

EDIT: Got nothing with a search except I see some folks own their stuff.

I ordered an a/b mini switcher from loopmaster in Dec and it took about a month to get it to me. I'm on their email list and they update a lot on lead times, they've said it should be a few days now.. it's a great product.

Thx for those links...they look cool, especially that Nose pedal, but I'm good with my choice.
