I ordered a Mooradian 3/4 bass bag for my Joseph Weiss 3/4 bass. It no fit. The bag was way tight and I am returning it. I am having it replaced with a Reunion Blues 7/8 bag. Is a 7/8 bag a lot bigger than the 3/4. I don't mind it being big but dont want my bass to swim in the bag.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Take measurements of your bass and have the supplier send a bag that'll fit right.

    Widest measurement at:
    Lower bout
    Upper bout
    Depth of bass, including bridge
depth or ribs, bottom and top
length of body, from butt to button
    Overall length

Also indicate whether you have and extension or not.

Basses come in all shapes and sizes, as do bags, so finding one that'll fit based on the fractional sizes alone is dicey at best.

There are different 3/4 bags available, btw.

    - small, medium, and large 3/4
    - small, medium, and large 7/8
    - and a 4/4

They can also custom cut a cover for any odd size. Nice folks.

Thanks folks. I ordered a Reunion Blues 3/4 Bag. I liked the Mooradian. I have had a few but I would like to try the Reunion Blues this time.

I didnt realize that Reunion Blues made bags for upright, I
have a leather bag for tenor sax, if the upright bag is made
as well as that it would be awesome, but expensive i bet :)

Do you have a url or picture of the RB bag??

Sure, here is the one I just got from Music123. I used it tonight for the first time, what a great gig bag. Very sturdy and lots of padding.

How is this holding up, Scott? How are all the handles and pockets for usefulness?

This seems to be the only bag I have seen that has a pocket on it long enough to hold the end-pin while the bass has a wheel fitted. I either have to fish around in the bottom of the bow pocket for the end-pin, or stow in in another bag and risk losing or forgetting it.
