This past week we play a relatively new place in Koenji, Tokyo called "HOWL the field". Not sure where the names come from, especially when in English.

Basically a Food Bar, a bar that serves food (really good food). As with many places it is small, maybe a 20 customer capacity.

The couple that run the place quit their regular jobs to persue the "dream"... kind of cool. His hobbie is repairing guitar amps, stereos and other sound equipment... she went to school to learn food service and learned well. Being from Hokkaido, the northern most part of Japan, the food is based on that region, so Jingisukan is the main dish, named after "Genghis Khan"... used to be made with mutton, but that is hard to come by now, so lamb is used. A really tasty dish... sorry didn't have my camera with me... but I did get a pic of the "kabocha dango" a pumpkin dumpling that is considered Hokkaido "soul food", it was awesome.

We played our normal set, minus our lead guitarist who was out with back pain.

although this maybe not be everyone’s cup of tea, this duo from Australia was most entertaining....

Both acts are pretty cool. The Australian is totally into the 1 with that splash.

    Thank you for your indulgence,
