I've been using DR Lowriders for a while now. I use the .110 gauge. I tune my 4 string to drop-b (B,F#,B,E). I love everything about them but I would like a little more tension in the same gauge. I would appreciate any suggestions.

You're using a .110 for a low B? You ought to try getting a 5 string set and using just the largest 4 strings - .125 or .130 for your B, .100 or .105 for your F#, etc.

Low riders are about the stiffest, tightest feeling strings I've found. You just need the correct gauges for the tuning your using.

That's the thing. For my playing style, blast beat metal with very fast picking, .110 is perfect. I have used a .130 and I did not like it all. I just can't get the precision with the big strings.
