This is what I ordered. (I requested the fretted board and and black hardware):

    Add from the Moses website:

New Custom Moses Graphite 4-string Bass: $999

    - Moses Graphite 22 position fretless bolt-on J-style neck with Rose Diamondwood fingerboard (Moses will sell with a MJ-144 fretted neck if preferred for the same price)
    - Bookmatched Mahogany body
    - Inset neck mounting with no backplate
    - Gold hardware, including knurled knobs, Bad Ass II bridge, strap security locks, and Schaller M-4 tuners
    - Active Bartolini Jazz pickup set; rear routed with Rose Diamondwood cover plate
    - Fodera Diamond round-wound strings
    - This is a really sweet fretless. It's got all the classic lines. The neck is sleek and fast, full of warmth and sustainful growl. The body is warm and resonant. The hardware adds shimmering class. The pickups are the perfect compliment.

    I called Moses immediately.
They said that I got the right bass and that the neck is new.
I informed them about the issues above (plus others), they said, "No way".
So I sent them these pics. Bass is being picked up today.

Moral of the story? Don't buy a CAR from Meineke.

Wow. Well, my personal experience with Moses customer service is very favorable, and I've read the same from others. I suspect they'll immediately make it right.

That is absolutely the shoddiest workmanship I've ever seen on a mid-priced bass.

Unacceptable. You were right to send it back.

please post what happens with this situation...after looking at the pictures I can't see how it got out of the place with any type of "verification" prior to shipment. I kinda think what Bizzaro said may be true---sure looks like you got someone else's by mistake?

    I feel for Ya.

    I hope everthing works out.
I can't believe what they did to the Barts.
I've never dealt with Moses, but have heard only good responses of the company.
No mater how well this works out, it will be a blemish on thier record, especially since this showed up on a forum such as Talkbass where there is alot of exposure.
Again I hope this works out for you.

  17. I'm certainly behind you and hope that everything works out for the best. You can bet that how you are treated will strongly influence any future consideration that potential customers (like me) might give to them. Please be certain to keep us up to date on this... and best of luck!
