Most bang for my buck

    So searching on craigslist the past few days has given me 3 options for amps.

    EDIT**
    Ok, I have narrowed it down to 2
    BASSMAN 100 for 150
    ACOUSTIC B200 for 200

    Is the acoustic worth the extra 50?


    My bass is an Ibanez SR300FM.

    Im not looking to gig with this, just maybe jam with a friend playing guitar or with a drummer.

    Need some opinions :bassist:

    I'd chose the BA115. Nice combo amp if it's the more recent model. They made a much older one too.

    If you know you like all three amps, and you plan to jam with others, then maybe you could opt for the most powerful combo? Just a thought...

    I have no experience with any of those combos.

    Try to find a Bassman 150-they go for around 300 on eBay. Otherwise, if the Ampeg works fine I'd go with that.

    I've seen the Bassman 150 (1x12 speaker) very cheap used.
    Guitar Center is always offering 15% off coupons for new
    stuff too. Of the amps listed, I'd go with the Ampeg.

    My experience with Fender Combos is that they are reliable but not spectacular. I prefer Ampeg BA115. BA210 or Rocket 100R.

    Yeah, I'm gonna echo everyone else. If I were going to rely on a combo amp, Ampeg B100R, or even the B200R. A little more money, but well worth it. Of your 2 choices, I'd pass, save some more, and go for something better.

    -1. This is by far one of the worst combo's out there. Trust me, I've owned one.
