Most historical Jazz Photo ever

  1. The Harlem '58- I saw it on here a long time ago, but I thought I'd bring it up 'cause it's such a great piece of Jazz History.

    I love that photo. I have a poster size version in my group's practice space. There was a documentery on TV about it a while back - I think there was one part that said Monk showed up with a black jacket on and saw everyone else also dressed up and thought he blended in too much, so he went home and changed into a yellow blazer so that he would stand out.

    I don't know if that's true or not considering its a black and white photo.
     

  3. Well you can see the colour difference cos his jacket is very light compared to the others.

    The DVD of the documentary plus lots of extra interviews and mini-docs is out and I bought it.
