Ive been coming on talkbass for a while now and for some reason the most ever users online has stayed rooted to 306 or something from 2 years ago! What do you all think of loads of people going on at a set date?

afaik, in those years the forum software counted members and non-members (people that just surf by with no account)...

nowadays it just count registered members

Why should they? If they register and never post, it will just take up space on the TB database, and they might as well just stay a guest. If everyone who looked at the forums registered and never posted if they didn't feel so inclined to, it would be pointless, and it would take possible names from perspective members. When I tried to join at first, my first 3 choices for names were taken, all by people who had registered over a year before, but had never posted once.

If they have no reason to become a member, then why should they?
