  2. That ad looks like it was a response to another ad - can you find the original?

I would bet that someone is pocketing some money and does not want to cut the bass player in.

    Is this one more respectful?

Any drummers want to get off their couch?

Any drummers want to get off their couch, form a cover band that is better then the local ones already playing and willing to bridge the gap of popular music to show there is more to the market here then classic rock standards?

New Year's Eve is not what it used to be, especially when it comes to live music.

  8. I get where the CL poster is coming from. Also "46" waste" is damned funny.

  11. Put Tubby McTubberton there under some good hot lights. Must be just like being onstage with a rose garden.

Hey, I play drums and own two couches. Oh, wait, I'm married and mostly play bass. Never mind...

Well, there may be some bass players out there who are without friends and family this season, and who would welcome the chance to get out and play some music on NY Eve. Might be a whole lot more appealing than their alternatives!

  16. Hey, I've been not paid for gigs before, at least he's upfront about him not intending to pay people.

... And the gig IS NOT with Popa Chubby, despite his pic being in that ad. I'm sure he would be pleased as could be that someone was using his image for this CL nonsense.

  18. I'd love to see someone take the gig, then halfway through the set bust out slapping like Flea on crack. When the dingus BL freaks out, tell him that he is inhibiting your musical genius, and proceed to pack up your gear and leave, leaving a note on the his windshield stating you get what you pay for.

Filming the whole thing of course.

  19. Probably way more work and trouble than it's worth, but monetizing that channel on Youtube when that's uploaded could be reallllly lucrative when it goes viral.

I think everybody is missing the point. The OP in the CL ad is bragging about his gig, and condescending those who are desperate enough for a gig to play for free.
