Check this out...
Wow, i really like it! Definately good stuff. I like the drums on it too. And he tastefully managed the different bass tracks. Its cool how they "blend". Really nice! Has a nice groove to it!
I dig it!! What bass/basses did you use? I can get that lead sound out of my Fender Jazz. Is that what was used?
I forgot to add that Pawel recorded it within like 2 hours - quite impressive time, if you ask me
He used a custom 6 string bass with 2 EMG humbuckers and no active eq. If I recall corectly, It was made by a french luthier named Shmidt. Great axe, haven`t seen anything quite like it.
I`ve got a new one - it seems that there will be more
Damn! I like that one better than the first one! Very nice!! I've never heard a 6 string with so much growl and bite! Can you post a pic of it? I'd love to see what it looks like!
I like them both, but that second track is just great! More please!
Care to fill us in with information pertaining to this bassist, and all that?
I really dig both tracks, I think I prefer the second one, but the first one IS very neat, I like grooves like that, kind of like steve reich.
Second that request for information about the player. Been listening to those tracks all evening!
ok, here are some photos
another - i kinda like this one ...
His name is Pawel Gawlik. One of poland`s finest bassplayers and a experienced producer, and - of course - my teacher
His band - analog - has an album coming out. As for Pawel, he is preparing to move to the US, because living from music in poland isn`t a specially cool thing.
If you have any comments, or want to offer him a gig in NY , feel free to contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org
i like, the bass on the second sounds a bit like its been miced from a 10w 8" combo with full everything
Very nice tone!
