I got my first Benavente yesterday. I had a custon green one with a maple board made, and I've gotta tell ya', this bass has more lowend than ANY maple boarded bass I've ever played. Just like a Sadowsky, this bass has a big mouth! If your technique is sloppy, she'll tell you! The playability and feel is amazing. Chris is a sick builder! I'll post better pic later in the thread.

Nice and simple, I like it! Is that a Greenburst or is it a solid color?
What electronics package did you decide to go with?

It's got a burst thing happening. I got Dimarzio p'ups and a custom preamp. I'm downloading pics as I type this.

Congrats, Woodchuck! Chris certainly is an amazing builder! Unfortunately, I've never seen any of his basses, but a good friend has several of his guitars, and I have the first semi-hollow guitar he ever built. He was fantastic then, so I can only imagine how stellar his instruments must be now. She's a purty one!

  10. I really dig how the heel blends with the body here. Great attention to detail. Very nice

That isn't a gloss finish is it?

 I done told y'all that already!

I can't wait for my next! (and the next one after that)

    Looks Killer!

  12. Very nice bass! Welcome to the green bass club! I have a green F Bass, and I think it's beautiful even though many others don't.

Anyway, may your action be low, your tone be great, and your playing be funky. Congrats!

  13. Nice tuner :D

I may be mistaken, but I don't think any Benny's have gloss finishes.

That is awesome Woodchuck! It looks to be a Matte finish. That bolt-on alignment looks like it took a page from Lakland's book...

I think you can get a gloss finish as an upgrade...I think?

    Woodchuck,
Congrats on your new bass and on joining the Benavente family!!! :D Chris can tally up yet another satisfied customer, I'm sure. Play the heck out of it and enjoy every minute!

    Speddling,
Now I know why it takes me so long to get basses in....you have all the build slots booked up through June!!! :D :p I finally got my first two Vintage Vortex 5-strings in and I can't say how thoroughly impressed I am. Now...off to place some orders before you claim all of the July-December slots as well! :D

I stand corrected. The gloss finish option costs $600.
