Mr. UPS came to see me on Wednesday while I was away on business. He delivered my brand spanking new Lakland 55-94 Standard from Beav and the boys at Bass Central. I got home late and was only able to give it a quick once over and last night I had to work my second job and didn't get to try it and tonight I'm working as well. So tomorrow is the big try-out. First 5 string for me as well. I think this one is a keeper! I'll post the review and some pictures asap.
Sounds like a beautiful bass. Nothing like a new bass to come home to at the end of the day! Have Fun! jtbp
Sounds like a shut-in weekend coming up for you Groove So what's your string count now? I'm thinking you're up to 17 strings total. I won't even go there with Brad. He's gotta be in triple digits. Peace, James
grooveguru, I'll trade you the MTD Beast that I have coming for your Lakland straight up! Obviously, I'm just joking. Congratulations on the new bass. I've never touched a Lakland bass. Can't find one locally. All of my visits to the Lakland site have me drooling though. Maybe I'll be able to get one of the new Skyline series because the American made verisons are probably out out of my reach for at least a few years. For now I'll have to settle with being happy for you. Bring on the PICS and other comments!
Thanks everyone. Malthumb the string count is going down actually. The Alembic's gone as is my Steinberger. Until I can get some pictures of mine this one looks identical:
Well the Mailman delivered my tortiseshell pickguard and extra strings today. The Lakland really look great with the tortiseshell pickguard. Nice contrast to all that wood.
Just plugged in the Lakland for the first time. Wow, very good tones to be had. Feels and sounds very very vintage Fender/MusicMan Stingray. The B string is awesome very tight sounding. I'll get a complete review and pictures up soon. This one is a keeper
