Sound wise, is there any difference between the 24 and 21 fret USA MTDs?

I understand the 24 will give you 3 additional frets and the 21 will have more room for slapping. I'm interested in knowing what the tone difference is between the two.

I've owned both adn still own my 535 21 fret. The MTD's wood choices have a much greater impact on the sound versus 21 vs. 24 frets. However, they are very different basses. the 24 fret has a much bigger body and the entire neck profile is larger, even at the nut. i much prefer the 21 fret version, but that's pure personal preference. They are both great. I again don't think they would sound that much different. There's plent of room for slapping on the 24 fret IMO
