KILLER MTD 535 from 1997! This bass has a swamp ash body with a beautiful burl Myrtle top finished in rare teaburst finish; simply beautiful to look at !! But even more beauty is its TONE! This has the Wenge neck and fingerboard and just cuts very well through any mix!!! Good for funk , jazz , country, blues , rock ! Etc .... Very versatile bass ; the 18 volt custom made Bartolini 3 band preamp is killer ! BUT the main factor here is the pickups !!! The first 800 MTD basses had Bartolini ACTIVE pickups; Bartolini no longer makes active pickups because it was too expensive to build a preamp into the pickup casing; this gives the bass a more modern sound or a more organic tone depending where you put the eq! Much nicer in my opinion than the current MTD basses that still sound great but have PASSIVE Bartolini pickups .

The bass is in near MINT shape with only a couple of almost invisible scratches but nothing serious ; it's a fantastic bass; I don't know what mr. Tobias does to his instruments but they just kick ass!!!

Bass is 35 inch scale ; and it includes case. These are expensive basses , the wenge neck , Myrtle burl add value to this bass; if you were to order it new you would Pay more than $5000!

Shipping is free within the USA. I can ship to other countries but you have to contact me first and pay for the shipping, insurance and customs charges.
It has the Original Brown case with green interior . Nice also !!
Serial Number is #220!! Very early bass !
Good luck finding another one with that low serial number in near mint conditIon !

If you want to hear this bass thru phone or Skype let me know or call me at 202-445-3441. I will try to post a video later this week .

No trades ! Unless you have an Alembic series 2 (I would add cash on my side ).
    PayPal is ok .
    Questions ?

    Thanks for reading!
