Meet MTD #1990, built in 2010 and in excellent condition. I cannot say enough about how good this bass sounds and plays. I am the original owner, and I bought the bass when Mike first started using makore as a body wood. I was trying to achieve a bass with tones for use in a variety of styles, a workhorse, and the makore was recommended. This wood combination nails the tone goal in spades. There is an inherent heft to this bass's voice and you can dial in a broad tonal palette with a turn of the knob. I am posting a clip of The Real Me by The Who at a bar gig for reference- I believe this was recorded on a phone.

    The details:

One Piece Quilted Sapele Top- Deep, Detailed Quilted
    Makore Body- Gorgeous Iridescent Quality
    Maple Neck
    Madagascar Rosewood Fingerboard (24 fret)
    MTD World Logo
    Luninlay Glow-in-the-Dark Fret Markers
11.1 Pounds on the Bathroom Scale (sits very comfortably)
    18mm String Spacing

I take very good care of my gear. For the sake of disclosure, I will note that there is a scratch on the bridge from a slip of the screwdriver when intonating it. Also some light wear on the tuners, pickup covers, and one of the knobs. There is also a miniscule nick on the headstock, very small and captured in photo. None of these things are noticeable unless you are looking for flaws. Otherwise the bass is immaculate.

Priced to sell at $3150 shipped and insured, includes MTD hardshell case!

Open to trades as well- MTD Saratoga, Super 5, Fodera Customs, Aguilar DB751 = +/- cash as needed.

Please ask questions via private message. Thanks for looking!

Fourth of July weekend bump - and a price redux to boot! Time to move this to a new home - :bassist:
Happy Birthday to our great country! :hyper:

I truly believe that this is one of the best sounding MTD's to come out of Mike's shop. Someone is going to get an amazing bass here!

Haven't bumped this up in a while, as this bass is hard to let go. No particular hurry for it to leave me. I am open to some trades- 4 or 5 strings (prefer 4), Fender, Fodera, Alleva, MTD Saratogas, LaBella Olinto, Aguilar DB751 = +/- cash as needed.

The MTD is a very comfortable 3.5" at the 24th fret, 3" at the 12th, and 2.25" at the nut :)
