I always thought the low end import MTDs were good bang for the buck. I think this bass is a good example of MTD goodness. The flats smooth out the tone and made me think a bit more melodically.

It was a little high, but it was GC. Buy anything there includes setting it up.

I'm always amazed how you can get your sound on just about any bass.
I know that was probably your first time playing it, but you did a great demo! :)

I just played it at GC. At $659, I thought It was about $75 overpriced.

Post a picture please! Although I don’t have six string chops, my TRB6 that I had during the Nineties is a bass I miss to this day!

You have a sweet collection. I bought the five string version of your bass from Vic, one of the old TB members I don’t see posting anymore.

Dr. C. What was your honest opinion on the electronics, which I know can possibly be upgraded to the USA electronics. At least I think.

I agree Doc...the Heir is my favorite of the MTD Kingston's...I've had my MIK KH4 since new in 2005. Its been upgraded over the years, but man it's solid and never fails to deliver. I've a few basses come through the stable, but she's just always there and no matter how long she sits, she reminds me why I still have her after all these years.

The stock set sounded great to me, but now she's got a Bartolini 18V set and USA Hipshot tuners now...the upgrade to the 18V gave it a bit more headroom and a slight bit more clarity. The build quality is awesome for the money. IMHO, bast bang for the buck out there.

    KH4_1.
