Any MTD Kingston/Hier owners out there? I've noticed that some places still sell the passive models despite the existence of active Kingstons & Hiers. Is there a big gain in tone/sound quality between passsive & active kingstons? Or is it just a matter of having an EQ? This is important to me considering the price difference...

Depends on your taste, the passive has allot of growl and good sound overall, personally i prefer my active Kingston. 450 + tax, great tones all around, you just cant beat it.... It has actually become my main bass now....

Allthough, I have been debating on getting a passive though and upgrading the eletronics.... :bassist:
