{} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} MTD Kingston Super 5 in excellent condition. Ash body in Dr. Browns Cherry Burst finish. Rosewood fretboard. I have played it on Wednesdays and Sundays for the past year but it shows no signs of wear to my eyes. I am reluctant to sell it but I just purchased an AG5 and I can't keep them both. MTD gig bag included. $900 shipped in continental US.
in my opinion they are very different tonally. i am not good at putting these things into words. both have great tone and are very versatile but they are completely different. i would describe the ag as having a sweeter, brighter tone. i would describe the super as having a more robust, beefy tone.
According to this review, MTD Kingston Super 5 review, it has a Bart preamp. Have you looked inside? Do you know what type of preamp it actually has? Could you post an image of the preamp?
i have seen that review. i dont think it is a bart but i may be wrong. it doesnt look like the barts that i have seen.
No where in the description it mentions Bartolini. It says MTD preamp. I'm speaking of the original Kingston website. The website you have up above seems to be full of speculation. They just assume it's Bartolini.
I can see where it would confuse anyone. But I have a lot of Bartolini products and that pre ain't one peace.
