    Here
I gotta say, I like the way it sounds.......Stingray pickups with S/P options in (relative)J-ish positions is a very interesting concept....Your video (as always) lets me hear the bass unhindered.....Now Im very curious and interested in a bass I pretty much knew zero about. Thanks again

I’m glad I have made more people aware of the Super 5. I had always liked what I heard on videos, when my favorite local shop became a MTD dealer, I figured it would be my time to make a move.

I hear ya Doc.! Before your vid of the Super, I had seen the Kingston Super 4. I want one. Plenty of available tones unique to it.

I'm with you on this! Too much flash can really kill or clutter a nice groove and most of the time lead to a train wreck. Also will piss off the Drummer! ;)

My favorite player who IMHO uses it correctly is Marcus Miller. Grooves hard and solid, driving the song, but when he steps out to solo, sooo funky, stanky face, FUNKY!

Dr Cheese, in your videos I don' hear Stingray tone, although I like the sound of MTD !

On the other hand, the video that posted "eliminate zero" is very close to Stingray's bassy tone .

Two good examples of USA Super 5 tone. The second is fairly beefy.

My absolute favorite player who uses a USA MTD Super 5 is Bubby Lewis, but dude is a genius level player. I can’t imagine him sounding bad on any bass.

Trying out treble cut/mid boost myself with both pickups in parallel.
