After nearly 20 years of ownership, I'm selling my MTD 635-24.

Absolutely killer bass, very punchy and with a bit more midrange character than many MTDs due to the solid figured Avodire body (which is tonally similar to Mahogany) and Wenge neck. Overall, it's in excellent shape, especially considering it's age.

While I've owned it, I sent it back to Mike to have it "Feiten-ized", since it was originally built before Mike was using BFTS on his instruments. Mike also built the ebony ramp on the bass, which can be easily removed if you don't want it. Additionally, last summer, I took the bass to Mike Lull, here in the Seattle area, to have the bass Plek'd and set up. As a result, this bass sounds and plays amazing, and is capable of some of the craziest low action I've ever seen.

    Specs:
    - Figured Avodire body
    - Wenge neck
    - Wenge fingerboard
    - 35" scale, 24 frets, 18mm string spacing
    - Weight is an even 10 lbs, according to my bathroom scale

Will ship carefully packed in its original MTD hard case. Asking $3300 $3100 shipped CONUS. Not interested in any trades.

This might be the most beautiful MTD I’ve ever seen. And that’s saying a lot.

I'm curious as to what exactly Mike did to "Feiten-ize" the bass. Was it just a matter of adding the zero fret?

My understanding is that he basically moved the location of the zero fret (as it was originally built with a zero fret from the get go).

Gorgeous. One of the best MTD's I have seen. Love the Wenge neck. Mid's!

What are the controls? Does it do active and passive by chance?

Looks like the standard MTD controls: volume, blend, bass, mid, treble, and mid frequency switch. The standard setup does not include a passive tone control or active/passive switch.
