If I add a mudbucker (I know this has been covered recently) to a Jazz bass, can I do 3 stacked knobs Vol/Tone for all 3 pickups? This concept has confused me for some time, but this control layout makes sense to me if it's doable.

  2. You could, but the tone is going to be really dark, and the tone controls will probably interfere alot with each other.

How exactly would the three tone controls interfere with each other?

  4. I am having trouble finding any threads about it, but with the volumes on full, each tone control is directly connected with the other pickup(s), so each tone control is going to affect everything rather than just it's respective pickup.

The solution is to isolate everything with resistors, but you get a small drop in overall output.
