MUDVAYNE Bass technique

  1. I recently saw mudvayne live, Their bass player blew me away!!:eek: can anyone tell me what this technique is, and where I can learn it or more about it?

    uhhh.....the mudvayne technique? ya got me, man...ryan's a pretty straightforward bassist...fingerstyle and slap...that's about it.
     
  3. he slaps, finger picks, strums, and right hand tapping techniques, he also uses his right hand index, middle, and ring fingers for arpeggios.

    That about covers it :)

    He also plays a finger style that sound like slap. Just tapping the string finger syrle like a slap... Kinda hard to explain, but he does it :p

  7. he does it on severed....

    and on recording on the new album (at least on "not falling") he plays with his right thumb resting on the neck and striking the strings on the fretbord with his fingers.

  10. yup, ryknow is one hell of a guy. he plays piano and such too. heh he also saved my guitarist from getting hit y a car. the car was backing up and he picked nick, my guitarist, up off the ground and set him down. heh needless to say, ryknow is built.

    Ryknow also used to play classical guitar and he uses that in his style of playing too.

  18. he wasn't on the floor behind a car... he was standing there, and a car just started backing up really fast. ryknow picked him up like that.

    whoa whoa, he slaps the strings with his right hand fingers? like striking the strings with the tips of his fingers? so that it in effect creates a "Mini-slap"? i mean, if you want to call it that. thats amazing.
