I was in a GC the other day, and I saw a Mesa Bass 400+ on clearance, so I figured, "What the hey?" ... I'l give it a try. It was sitting on top of one of their Powerhouse 1000 cabs with four 10's and a 15. I plugged in a Fender American Jazz bass and dialed it in. It sounded good.

Cool, sounds like a sweet rig. Were the 4x10 and 1x15 in the same cab? Must be a HEAVY cab!

  7. We all know he traded in all his eden gear for it...

Wait... no he didn't... should've though, hahaha

I admit, i played an Eden Metro the other day, sounded quite nice, but at 400W?? it was about half as loud as my 300W Mesa 400+... go figure...

*actually it's because of the tubes, but meh*

Still shoulda traded the eden gear for it. except the cab.. i really don't like MESA cabs. I play a BagEnd Q10BX-D, and it soun ds like SEX to me. that's right, SEX.

Yeah, Lotsa stuff sounds good in the "room" or even at home in the living room. But where the 400+ and P1000 shine is in the "living mix"
My setup is tweaked, but I'll bet the stock pair aren't far off.
BTW, I have been down the "Eden Trail" Excellent, Dry. Mesa= Excellent Juicy + Agressive Rock.

Holy cow... I think I just had a coronary. Congratulations, Munji, on having the skills to give a 26 year old, 125 lbs., Mesa fan a heart attack.

I said it sounded good. I'd never buy it. I require superb.

  12. I'm sure the Bass 400+ sounds good with any cab. I'll have to go to GC to try one out.

Nice rig, but I'd hate to have to lift it. :D

I played a new Mesa Venture 2X10 combo the other day and was really impressed. I did not think a 2X10 could be that loud but what really impressed me was the nice thick, warm tone. (That shouldn't have surprised me too much though because I really like the M Pulse amps). I just can't get used to those metallic sounding highs that you get with Edens but everyone's ear is a little bit different.

I put snap handles on the back. It can be lifted with two people if one grabs it by the casters. Mine sleeps in tha band van. If not, then in my StaWag. The casters are great for flat rolling, but lifting requres two. I think the old diesel weighs 150+.
