What do you all perfer? Fender or Music man basses? I a very clear observation of mine was that A LOT of pro's use the fenders but most of my favorite bands including Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Escape the Fate, Three Days Grace, Disturbed, Linkin Park, and Metallica's bassists use the music mans. My question is which do you prefer? It'd be nice to see if you could leave reasons why you like one more than another or just pro's and con's.
Sorry, I had to say it.... SEARCH!! I have both EBMM Stingray and Fender Jazz and even though both of them sounds very different, they can do very well in every music in a different way. But if I had to pick one, I'd go for Stingray.
I have never seen a thread regarding this topic specifically so I don't see how searching could come up with any results... Also the words "Fender" and "Musicman" won't provide anything specific regardless of whether or not there are or aren't threads like this one already... On to the question at hand. I'd also like to know what people think when comparing these two brands
You guys are really big on Searching lol. I prefer Fender. Id say Dean but thats not what your asking. I personally have never played a musicman so I dont know.
yeah you can listen real closely off "this war is ours" especially in "the flood" and "the guillotine II"
ya people go a bit overboard with the search button and like to turn into search button Nazis. I dont understand it either, if its a thread thats been beaten to death and you dont want to contribute, dont post. If the mods see it as a HUGE threat to the productivity of the board theyll take care of it. Anyways, to the question at hand. For that kind of music, I too would reach for my ray everytime. Big loud guitars in that type of music, and youre going to want to have a bass that will cut like a champ, a EBMM will always do that. Also, IMO, they feel a lot more comfy that Fenders do. My $.02
If no one noticed in my sig, im quite the fan of stingrays, they're amazing. Feel, sound, looks and all. It's just a great bass and Holy war im diggin the misfits skull, im quite the fan of that exact picture
No doubt that stingrays are great BUT, it might not be the one for everybody. I'd assume that you love the Stingray tone but you must go try it. There's chance that it might not be a great fit for you (i.e. neck). I really love Warwick sound but I just can't get over their neck....
I think you should try SX basses. Because <insert how much better is your 100 buck essex bass than [insert the original brand in question] basses>... It's the perfect answer to every bass question.
I've owned both Fenders and EBMMs (and a number of other basses)... I've since sold all my EBMM Stingrays and despite playing in a metal band I find my Fender Jazz Basses a better fit... You should really make your own mind up; based first on the feel of particular instruments and then consider tone/PUPs... Ignore what your idols play...
